Use our standard service to obtain legal advice on your Settlement Agreement. We will validate the settlement with a signed certificate and send this to your employer.

Advice on Settlement Agreement

For a Settlement Agreement to be legally binding, the law requires a relevant independent adviser to give the employee advice on the terms, the effect of the proposed agreement and its impact on the employee’s ability to pursue any rights before an employment tribunal.

Under our Standard Service:

  • We will give you clear advice on the terms of the Settlement Agreement.
  • We will explain the effect of the Settlement Agreement on your ability to bring legal claims relating to the termination of your employment.
  • We will confirm our advice to you in writing.
  • We will consider whether there is scope to increase the amount offered in the Settlement Agreement, in which case you will be able to use our Enhanced Service, if you wish to do so.

We normally expect to be able to provide this detailed advice within 1 – 2 working days of receiving your instructions, employment documents and client ID, subject to the receipt of any further information that we request from you or advise you to obtain from your employer.

Our Certificate of Advice

Having received our Client Advice Letter, you can instruct us to provide our Certificate of Advice to your Employer, with the Settlement Agreement signed by you. Your Employer should then sign the Settlement Agreement and the deal will be done.
