Grant Saw Solicitors LLP

Grant Saw Solicitors provide a range of legal services to both businesses and individuals. Established in 1851, we combine a strong tradition of legal excellence with a modern, friendly approach that enables us to provide the very best service to each one of our clients.

Michael Pope

Consultant Solicitor

Michael joined Woolsey Morris & Kennedy solicitors in Sidcup in January 1983. He was a Partner in Woolsey Morris & Kennedy from 1 May 1987 until 30 April 2008. On 1 May 2008, Michael started Lawbridge Solicitors, now incorporated into Grant Saw Solicitors LLP, with a view to providing high quality affordable legal services through efficient use of information technology and reduced overheads.

Michael has a Masters Degree in Employment Law and Relations with Distinction from the University of Leicester.

Company & Commercial:  Acting for a wide range of clients in commercial transactions, Michael has acted on the purchase and sale of businesses, advised on the employment aspects of out-sourcing and re-structuring, and drafted and negotiated a wide variety of commercial agreements.

Employment law: Michael has considerable experience in all aspects of employment law including advising employees, directors and substantial organisations, acting as advocate in the employment tribunal, representing clients in employment mediation and conducting seminars and training. He has successfully managed a very large number of employment disputes including dismissal, various forms of discrimination and contract claims.

Litigation:  Michael has acted as solicitor in disputes in the Commercial Court, the Queen’s Bench Division, the Chancery Division, the Technology and Construction Court, the Companies Court and many County Courts.

He has handled disputes involving various types of contracts, technology and intellectual property, professional negligence, partnerships, directors and shareholders, consumer problems, financial services and insolvency. He has represented clients in mediation and negotiations and advised in connection with enforcement and asset recovery.

Insolvency and bankruptcy:  Over many years, Michael has advised insolvency practitioners, businesses and individuals in relation to a wide variety of legal issues and problems arising in insolvency situations including dealing with winding up and bankruptcy petitions, making applications to the Companies Court and County Courts and negotiating settlements of disputes relating to the ownership of assets.

Simran Lalli

Solicitor

Simran joined Grant Saw in January 2021. She trained at a regional firm in Bedfordshire and qualified as a solicitor in July 2019. Prior to training, Simran graduated with a Law degree from the University of East Anglia and went on to achieve a distinction in the LPC from the University of Law.

Simran has acted for individual employees and employers on both contentious and non-contentious employment law and HR matters to include:

  • Bringing and defending Employment Tribunal claims
  • Whistleblowing
  • Discrimination issues
  • Redundancy
  • Settlement Agreements
  • TUPE
  • Disciplinary and performance management matters
  • Contacts of employment, staff handbooks and policies

Simran is the former Treasurer of the Hertfordshire Junior Lawyers Division and is also a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

Outside of work, Simran enjoys travelling and spending time with her family and friends.

Lauren Smith

Paralegal

Lauren started her career as a PA within a legal software company which is where her interest in the Legal Profession began.  She attended evening college where she passed her RSA levels 2 and 3 in Legal Text Processing with distinction and then relocated to London for a Legal Support Secretary position within a magic circle law firm.

Lauren joined Lawbridge Solicitors in Sidcup as a Legal Secretary in 2017, which then merged with Grant Saw a few months later.  In 2019, she took on the role of Employment and Family Paralegal at our Greenwich office.  She assists the partners and solicitors in the firm’s employment and family departments with a range of different matters including:  preparing court bundles, legal research and attending court.

Lauren has a particular interest in using IT to streamline processes and works regularly with the Head of IT developing new ideas that will benefit the office.

Outside of work, Lauren’s interests include travelling, cooking and stand-up comedy.
